On November 19, 2018, at around 4:27 PM, Bremerton officers and deputies with the Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a “head-on”motor vehicle collision on Highway 3, just south of Division Avenue W. Two vehicles were involved in the collision; a 2008 Ford Taurus and a 2008 Ford F150 truck and both sustained significant damage. Investigators believe the truck that was driven by a 40 year old male, and the passenger car that was driven by an 85 year old male, had been traveling in opposite directions. Investigators believe the truck crossed the center line and collided head-on with the passenger car. The 85 year old driver of the car sustained serious injuries and died soon after the collision. Officers noted signs of impairment and detected the odor of marijuana on the driver of the truck. After being treated and released from the hospital, the driver of the car was arrested and booked into the Kitsap County Jail for Vehicular Homicide. His bail was set at $300,000.
