Eric Younger - District No. 7


Eric Younger represents Bremerton City Council District 7 which includes Kitsap Lake, a portion of Kitsap Way, and the area reaching south towards Gorst. Providing boundaries for the district are the Kitsap County neighborhoods called Rocky Point, West Hills, and Navy Yard City. 

Eric was appointed in May 2001 to fill a vacancy left by David Farr and served through 2003 then served his first term from 2010 through 2013 for the former Council District 8. Eric was re-elected to a second term through 2017 and now represents the new Council District 7. 

Eric is the 2017 Council President. He also serves on the Audit Committee, Police Pension Board, and Kitsap Economic Development Alliance (KEDA) Board of Directors.    

Eric earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in History (University of Minnesota) and a Masters degree in Business Administration (Eastern Michigan University). He moved to Bremerton in 1997, is a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Valuation Analyst, and works for the U.S. Department of Justice as a forensic auditor, specializing in investigating financial crimes.   

As a Council Member, he works to maximize taxpayer dollars by providing better, more cost-efficient government services with an emphasis on customer service (the City of Bremerton works for you). He is especially interested in improving the condition of City streets and reviewing existing ordinances and code enforcement efforts so that neighborhood problems can be better addressed.
