Groundbreaking at new PSNS Garage

On Friday, August 27th, 2004 Mayor Bozeman and other Navy and City officials, broke ground on the $10.7 million parking garage that will house 1,000 cars of civilian workers from Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, beginning in October 2005. The parking garage, which will be built along Park Avenue between Fourth and Fifth streets, was needed because 1,100 spaces inside the Bremerton Naval Base were lost after the September 11th terrorist attacks. Not only will the garage take 1,000 cars off city streets and out of parking lots during the day, but the public will be allowed to use it at night and on weekends free of charge.
