Bremerton Skatepark
On November 30th, 2005, the new Bremerton Skatepark opened. The Skatepark, located just below the Glenn Jarstad Aquatic Center in East Bremerton between Magnuson & Home Jones Drive, is the result of a cooperative effort between the Bremerton Skateboarders & Supporters (BSSU) and the City of Bremerton. The Bremerton Parks & Recreation Department would like to recognize the youth of Bremerton and thank them for their input into development of the Skatepark and patience. BSSU worked with the City for over four years and the result is a skatepark of their design.
The Department is grateful for the community involvement that enabled them to fund the Skatepark's constuction. Funding from the Central Lions Charitable Foundation, Kitsap County, Bremerton Comunity Development Block Grant and the Interagency Committee for Outdoor Recreation-Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program Grant made the Skatepark a long awaited reality.
The Parks & Recreation Department wishes to express their appreciation to Mayor Bozeman, the Bremerton City Council, the Parks & Recreation Commission and City staff for their ongoing support of this project and other Department endeavors.
The Parks & Recreation Department would also like to recognize Miles Yanik & Company, the architect, and Tom Sahli Construction for their efforts to plan and construct a quality facility.
