Housing Information
Housing ProgramsThe City of Bremerton Housing Programs seek to enhance the City's growth and character by preserving and protecting the qualities of its existing single-family neighborhoods.
The City of Bremerton offers two types of loans to qualifying City residents. The Down Payment Assistance Program and the Housing Rehabilitation Loan Program use federal dollars granted to the City annually by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to assist low- and moderate income residents with their housing needs.
The dollars come with two "strings." All houses must be within the Bremerton City limits and all households using our programs must fall within the HUD income guidelines, which are based on the area median income (AMI) for Bremerton. The income limits change each year. Currently they are as follows:
| House-hold Size | 50% Area Median Income (Very Low) | 80% Area Median Income (Low) | 100% Area Median Income (Moderate) |
| 1 | $24,800 | $39,700 | $49,600 |
| 2 | $28,350 | $45,350 | $56,700 |
| 3 | $31,900 | $51,050 | $63,800 |
| 4 | $35,450 | $56,700 | $70,900 |
| 5 | $38,300 | $61,250 | $76,600 |
| 6 | $41,000 | $65,750 | $82,200 |
| 7 | $43,950 | $70,300 | $87,900 |
