Center History and Surroundings
The original building was moved from a Westside location in the late 1960's. It was first used as a school, before the parks department acquired it. In September 1972, the doors were opened for business! At that time the square footage was approximately 2,000, but with additions over the years, has grown to over 5,000 sq. feet! This was made possible due to generous contributions from Bremerton Rotary, $UM$ ($eniors Uncover Money $olutions), volunteers, CDBG grants, and City funds.
The Center is adjacent to Manette Playfield which has a Big Toy, two tennis courts, a youth size ballfield, and hosts one of the four free Playground Summer programs
