Stormwater
The management of the City of Bremerton's drainage system is one of the many responsibilities of the City to provide for the public's health, safety and welfare.This responsibility includes the protection and preservation of the natural resources of the area that play such a large role in sustaining the City's quality of life. Within the City, the responsibility for storm and surface water management and the protection of groundwater have been entrusted to the Department of Public Works and Utilities.
It is the mission of the Stormwater Program within the Department to control flooding, enhance water quality, protect sensitive habitat areas, and optimize the recharge of local aquifers.
Comments and Feedback
To help satisfy the public involvement and participation measure, the City has created opportunities for the public to participate in the development, implementation, and update of the Stormwater Management Plan. The City highly encourages public comment and participation. Events such as City Council meetings and other publicized activities will be posted at this web site, in addition to annual stormwater reports and latest updates to the SWMP.
